Decide if you want to hire an agent to a commission of your winnings (usually 15%), an agent can make a criticism of your work, send it to some publishers that would otherwise not even consider you as a potential writer, and negotiate your contract . However, it is very difficult, to find a good agent to work with you if you have not published anything, and the market is full of bad players and cheaters. So if you decide to get an agent, make sure it is a worthwhile.

Find publishers . Looking for children’s books that are similar to yours in content and audience and see what companies have published.

Get published guidelines for writers of each of the editors . You can make a telephone or written request (by sending a postage paid) for you to send your email address or the guide, which, among other things will tell you whether they accept or not to receive unsolicited manuscripts, and if so how can you forward them.

Submit your manuscript according to the rules of each editor . Follow the exact format requirements as stipulated in the guidance that the editor you have provided.
Unless you’re a professional illustrator, do not send pictures. The editors choose which they want.
Be sure to include a self-addressed, postage paid and a letter )or letter of inquiry, if required)

If you are rejected, persists . Write and send more manuscripts. Repeat, repeat and repeat. If you are offered a contract, consider contacting an agent just to help you negotiate the contract (at a price per hour and not on commission). You can also associate a guild or association of authors and request assistance from their lawyers to finalize the contract, or ask for help from a friend that has already been published and know how things go.
